Mary Fazio Gregorian Masses

In memory of our sister in the Dominican Laity, Mary Fazio, here is the prayer we are praying in unison with Fr. Arsenius for the 30 days beginning February 14, 2019.

PRAYING FOR MARY FAZIO DURING GREGORIAN MASSES

Celebrated by Fr. Arsenius

30 consecutive days beginning on February 14, 2019

“Oh God, whose property is ever to have mercy and to spare,

we humbly entreat Thee on behalf

of the soul of Thy handmaid

Mary Antonietta Fazio

whom Thou hast bidden to pass out of this world:

that Thou wouldst not deliver her

into the hands of the enemy nor forget her forever,

but command her to be taken up by the holy angels,

and to be born to our home in paradise,

that as she had put her faith and hope in Thee

she may not undergo the pains of hell

but may possess everlasting joy.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son,

who lives and reigns with Thee

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

God, forever and ever. Amen.”

Suffrages February 2019

St. Dominic by fra. Angelico

February 7 and 9

Please remember to pray the Office of the Dead for All Parents of Dominicans on February 7th. NOTE!

Due to snow storm the suffrages on the 9th have been cancelled!

(Hopefully you can join us in community on February 9th at Holy Rosary Church for the 8 am Mass, with Rosary and Office of the Dead following, for our community obligation of suffrages. Cancelled!)

We made up for the cancellation, and prayed the Office of the Dead (Vespers) on Feb. 20, 2019 in Sienna Hall and Rosary in front of the Blessed Sacrament in the church. There were 12 of us there.

New Prior Provincial

Very Rev. Fr. Christopher Fadok, O.P.

The Dominican Friars of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus joyfully announce the election of Fr. Christopher Paul Fadok, O.P., as Prior Provincial. He has most recently served as Socius and Vicar to the Provincial.

Fr. Christopher was elected by the Chapter capitulars on Thursday, January 10, 2019 and now begins his four-year term. Over the next few weeks, he will work with the capitulars to review province legislation, assignments, and future goals.

Fr. Christopher was born in 1968. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona, he attended Catholic grade school at Most Holy Trinity Parish and high school at Brophy College Preparatory. In 1986, he received an Air Force ROTC scholarship and studied engineering in Chicago. His thoughts at that time turned to God and philosophy and in 1987 he began to study philosophy at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

From the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology he received the degrees Master of Philosophy in 2006 and Master of Divinity in 2010. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2010 and ministered as a parish priest at Blessed Sacrament, Seattle, WA, and as pastor of St. Raymond of Peñafort, Menlo Park, CA, with an emphasis on the New Evangelization. In December 2016, Fr. Christopher was appointed Socius and Vicar to the Provincial for the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.

Fr. Christopher points to his mother and father, brothers and sisters, and their spouses–his entire family–as the greatest school of love and self-sacrifice he has known. He therefore credits all of them with building up in him the strength to happily receive the grace of his religious vocation.

Please pray for Fr. Christopher as he takes on his new leadership role.
