Happy New Year from Menlo Park Sisters
Happy Provincial Feast Day from Denise
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Happy New Year and Happy Feast Day!
Today, January 3rd, is the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. We are blessed to be members of the province that honors Jesus’ Holy Name. To be called to membership in this great province is not only a blessing, but a responsibility.
Our culture has the common practice of taking the name of Jesus in vain every day. The Lord hears this offense throughout the world and in innumerable ways. Together, let’s repair for these offenses, and bring joy to our Saviour’s heart, by reciting the Litany of the Most Holy Name of Jesus (see link below).
May the Holy Name of Jesus be praised!
Have a healthy, happy and holy 2022.
God bless you always,
Denise

Christmas Message from our Lay Provincial Council President
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Jesus is born today!
The birth of Our Lord and Savior is the perfect time to recommit our lives to His Will. We can do this by re-consecrating ourselves to Our Blessed Mother and St. Joseph, asking them to adopt us into their holy family. Then in gratitude, let’s serve them in every moment and circumstance of our lives.
Following the example of Our Lady and St. Joseph, let’s spend this Christmas Season in adoration of the Christ Child, present in the Blessed Sacrament.
The link below is an account of the Nativity by Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich. As you read through it, give special thanks to Our Lady and St. Joseph for all they did and endured for our salvation. Let’s ask for the grace to imitate their heroic virtues.
May our sweet Infant Jesus draw you close to His manger this day.
May Our Blessed Mother wrap you in Her mantle of protection. May St. Joseph guide you on your journey.
You are all in my heart and prayers each day.
Many blessings to you, your chapter and your families,
St. Dominic, pray for us!
Mrs. Denise Harvey, OP, LPC President

From John Walsh Re: Dobbs Supreme Court Case
We all are aware of the potentially momentous Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s Health Supreme Court case that begins oral arguments on Dec. 1. I received a podcast from First Things that you might find interesting – I certainly did. The 35 minute interview is with Prof. Robert George who teaches Jurisprudence at Princeton. Prof. George does an excellent job of explaining in laymen terms all of the pertinent issues related to the Dobbs case, the precedents and historical background, what’s at stake, the positions of key Supreme Court Justices (some who he personally knows), possible outcomes, and then a very bold prediction. He points out that neither Roe nor Dobbs deals with the emotional, moral issues of abortion – issues that we would put at the top of the list. Rather, these cases deal with constitutional rights and legal positions. Prof. George does an excellent job of covering these aspects of the case – the things that will decide the final decision of this case. Highly recommended. See the link below.
